Seems like yesterday
It only seems like yesterday that I was but a mere child
It only seems like yesterday that I was a teenager
It only seems like yesterday that I was a young adult
It only seems like yesterday that I said goodbye to my school friends and teachers
It only seems like yesterday I started a brand new year
It only seems like yesterday I had gotten a brand new job
It only seems like yesterday I had gone on air for the first time
It only seems like yesterday I fell in love for the very first time
It only seems like yesterday my heart got broken
It only seems like yesterday I cried bitter tears
It only seems like yesterday I celebrated another birthday
It only seems like yesterday I rediscovered joy
But it hasn’t been…
It’s been seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, months and years ago.
The sky has never looked so blue
The horizon never looked so clear
As I now start yet another brand new year
Wow this a great poem, i especially like the last stanze, the whole poem is a truth which still puzzles many people as it doesn't seem like that long ago...^_^
