I wanted to tear her open too 

we should have met on a

long stretch of road

somewhere in

Tuscan

while our dry mouths pant 

taking my hand 

teaching me how to sever my

heart from the world 

or how to snap bones with

two page poems 

You understood every single 

weapon you used 

they were appendages

parts of you

your embrace, so ethereal 

left trails of dead

 without eyes

 you understood 

no one needs to look back
