False Hope

Folder:
The Old Stuff

There will be a day when peace reigns on earth.

False hope?

There will come a time when hunger will cease to exist.

False hope?

Diseases will be cured, immortality obtained.

False hope?

Is it false hope to think this is more than just a game,

A measly love affair?

Is it false hope to think I can steer you away from her,

Beautiful with her love for you?

The clouds keep getting darker and the thunders rolling in.

I thought you would be here for me through the thick and thin.

Be merciful in the words you speak

For I am fragile now.

Be true to what you say (with such eloquence)

It need not be a vow.

If false hope it may be, dont hide behind a faade.

Theres only a few things I desire,

And this I ask of you:

Be merciful.

Be true.

And know that I love you.

Sometimes, a person will only want to be around the one they know who loves them, cause it enflates their ego or to have a place to rest their head. They want to be desired and admired and adored, but in the back of their mind, they are wishing it were someone else - certainly not you. But sometimes, we can't see this cause we are hoping our love will be enough for the two of you. But it's not and never will be. Just like your poem.... One is living on False Hopes...

Your poems are very sad.
