TOGETHER AS ONE

Slowly, the years did pass,

as I watched you from afar.

Now that I can hold you in my arms.

You have become my shooting star.

Your soul is strong, it shelters me

from the troubles of our day.

When it all becomes to much for me,

my love for you keeps the pain away.

I trust in you, your spirit heals.

I gain my strength from you alone.

To reach the light at the end of darkness,

with you, I haven't any fear of the unknown.

Bit by bit, my shield comes down

as you lift me up each time I fall.

I now can face whatever life may bring

and fearlessly rise above it all.

You have taught me strength lies within

as long as my feelings, I will share

to anyone who holds me in their heart

and will listen and be aware.

I thank you with my heart of hearts

for all you have given me.

Through this life, let us walk together,

for I love you very much, you see.

Another piece of fine work, nicely done, and you expressed such love and faith in this one. Beautiful work!

"Together as one", for me, is real and meaningful in every sense worthy sense. And in a powerfully stiring way reminds me of Lucky Dube's song of the same title. In the following beckoning lines, Lady Hawke unequivocally explicates the truth of the human soul in love: "Your soul is strong, it shelters me from the troubles of our day When it all becomes too much for me, my love for you keeps the pain away." But then, it's the quatrain stanzas of "Together as One" that really drives home the soulful essence of the poet's uplifting feelings and message for all humankind. In the end, the gratefulness of a heart that has deeply found love in its truest form, captures our sense of cherishment in soulfully empowering consciousness as Lady Hawke declares echoingly: "I thank you with my heart of hearts for all you have given me. Through this life, let us walk together, for I love you very much , you see." Where else, indeed, can one find such soulful and stiring words of gratefulness in love? Just in Lady Hawke's deeply, humane poetry because: "Now that I can hold you in my arms, You have become my shooting star." Truely, there is a beauty of the spirit about "Together as One". And I am enriched by this disarming beauty of the spirit unbound! UGONNA
