Life Is Death

Can I be happy

Yet alone free

Can or shall I

But an end to my life

Or bring forth

The better half of me

Black as tar

Sticky and wet

Death’s hand pulls me under

As I take my last breath

Consumed or was I doomed

By my own destruction

Embraced by a force

Left alone in a trance

Say my misfortunes

As I was led astray

Coming to the realization

That I shall never again

See the light of day

Is this a victory

Or my defeat

Looking around in darkness

At the mercy of death’s feet

What awaits me

Is something unknown

Or is it an untruth

Waiting to be shown

Telling lies to my vision

Gazed upon its shadow

Followed by a

Gray mist

Understanding

Life without death

Nothing would exist
