she worked so hard for this part

years of trial and rejection

then she won the desire of her heart

Heady perfume of triumph

goes to her head like good wine.

After all her lifetime of failure

in neon her name will shine

Enticing as odour of white musk

savoured with inner delight

fragrant as rosebuds fresh opened

her trimphant success of first night.
