THE LEVITY OF JESUS

THE LEVITY OF JESUS

When He, pale from the grave and risen in all places,

Came back to the doubting world, what excuse is left

After such proffering of the greatest of all assurances.

But, we, with such a strong attraction to guilt, would

Keep mounting the same cross in the belief of ongoing

Unforgiveness; it is the greatest of all deadenings.

In his rising, the saddest mien of hell is healed, and with

Infinite simultaneity all guilt assuaged for there are no

Accusers left but modern Pharisees dying by attrition.

No one went further than He; however, it can happen to

Us who raise our blood to an extended work.  To become

A risen one, one must not stay dead among the dead.

The dead have their task; they assist in a way that does not

Distract.  What is furthest away from the living reminds us

Within, that like He, we rise and lift them up towards us.

He had his dead but let them go, knowing they were not

Ready to grasp eternal natures believing in the pull of mute

Gravity; having seen his levity, we must go and do likewise
