It hurts to be lost

     between coming and going

In loving and living

     do you know what you're doing?

You think you're in love

     and give all your heart

But he'll take it and break it

     and tear it apart

He never was true

     it wasn't intended

He thought he was cool

     and his trust had been planted

You sit up at night

     while he's out with the boys

He's taking girls home

     and making them toys

When you finally find out,

     he's sorry and crying

While deep inside

     you feel like he's lying

So you break it off,

     feeling it's right

Looking ahead

    your future seems bright

Months go by

     and you hear people say

"He still cries for you

     to this very day"

But you're happy now

     with yet another

Going back to him

     isn't worth all the trouble

You've got someone who loves you

     his feelings are true

Of course there were others

     but now only you

Please be strong,

     don't return to the past

It was wrong a long time

     but it's right now at last.
