A Breeze's Sorrow

O' gentle breeze.....

Did you find a soul to warm,

seek out a heart to melt?

Were the whispers in your care,

avowed by you heartfelt?

You returned with no reply,

no answer to my plea.

Did perhaps you try too hard,

she drifts away from me.

O' gentle breeze.....

Could there be no heart to warm,

your message gone awry?

Did your breath, oh  aimless breeze,

return an empty sigh?

Be still now wand'ring wind,

you toil far too long.

For there is no heart to melt

no soul to hear your song.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is merely a grieving mans plea to the wind, in an attempt to understand how the love of his life drifted away.

This is very beautiful, the sadness and frustration fill the lines...this is very excellent writing! Thank you for your comment!
