-Cleaning Maggie's Room

"Wow, what a mess", said Dad with a grin.

"This stuff is unbelieveable, Oh where to begin!"

"But Daaaaaad", she said, "it's so boring, unfun!"

"With a mountain like this, I'll never get done!"

The Barbies and clothes all mixed up in a mess

Toys, trash and shoes, "I won't get any rest."

"I can see you need help putting away such a load

and we must clean it up, this is your abode. "

With a wink he exclaimed, "It doesn't have to be hard.

We'll haul it all out 'n burn it in the front yard."

The finding and sorting and cleaning galore,

"I'll never see daylight, no, never no more."

We'll make it fun, not a difficult chore

In a snap, we'll be finished 'n out the door!

So Daddy helped Maggie off to a good start.

Maggie loves daddy, who has a good heart.

And the part of this story Mama loves best?

She doesn't have to deal with any of that mess!

Author's Notes/Comments:

Getting a kid to clean her room is a BIG chore--especially MY kid.  Fortunately, my other equally messy big kid (aka Dad) doesn't mind helping her occasionally.
Dad and Maggie both gave me 10 words about cleaning her room:

His:  Fun, Hard, Difficult, Wow, Stuff, Mess, Unbelieveable, Help, Finished, Putting-away

Hers:  boring, sorting, barbies, toys, trash, unfun, finding, clean, clothes, shoes
