In My Eyes

Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with the world a crazed sniper on the run killing innocent people. Is it all a game or is he playing God? A president who will attack a nation on the case of assumption or better yet trying to finish daddies work. Terrorists killing thousands and saying it's for religion, since when has religion become violent? Saying it's a Jihad(holy war) I say read the Koran and tell me what's the definition of jihad. Your ignorance amazes me. The youths of the nation killing each other and themselves. Cluttering their minds with drugs and alcohol. Yeah it is shocking to say these kids are suppose to be our FUTURE. When will there be peace on earth? When the earth falls to pieces.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

This is a spoken word. I was watching CNN during the time of the D.C. Sniper and the soon to be attack on Iraq. So I guess I became inspired and the art of verbal intercourse took over me and I just started saying what was on my mind. Well it stayed in my brain long enough for me to remember it and wrote it down.

Hello Samir,
I like what you wrote.
You are right, all religions are calling for peace, but what could we do with some people who understand the most peaceful religion wrongly and they hide their criminals behind a holy thoughts..
And what we could do with those people who use their power to destroy tens of thousands of innocent people and they just decide to destroy a country and do it by cold blood..
No law.. no rules.. no logic..
The big fish eat the small one… and no one can say a comment..
This is our world…………

CNN wants us to be the first to know_the violence...blah!blah! Advocating freedom! Non stop violence non stop media sensation. Pity! Wonder when this will come to an end. Thank you for expressing your thoughts against violence.

Samir, your wordings are so deep and thoughtfull. I'm sure if most of the people would have the courage to know or learn about the unknown, then they would be bewildered with truth they never knew, and the world would have been a better place.
I surely loved it!

You explored a lot of issues in this one poem. To reflect on the horrors of things going on around us and put it into words is poetry in it's truest form. My favorite lines were:

"When will there be peace on earth?
When the earth falls to pieces."

Great poem!! Keep on keepin on!
