I've heard my day is coming now,

For a long long time.

But its time for me to go,

I'm leaving all of this behind.



Maybe the man will look my way,

Lord, I sure hope he does.

It's getting harder to say,

That all the world needs is love.



For all that I am, and all that I know

For all that I am, this is the life I love



I'm giving this the best shot I can,

Playing my songs with the band.

But some people don't understand,

Won't somebody lend a helpin hand?
