The Crush (speaks)

I am the crush she

Molded from

     his body/  everything

about him

breathed physics his figure formed by

     friction

a tangle of ninety degree angles his thoughts

     sound waves his lies trembling

      in the air

               And

                she liked me.

Thought she stood safe/ caged

by his other girls I couldn't grow

    claws I was

    her friend her confidante

the thing that got her up in the morning

But in the spare moments she isn't looking he

Sees me feeds me can't leave me

Alone he takes my hand tells me I’m not enough

For this man wants more/ a grand

Dragon with eyes like diamonds hard and fire

                   In his heart

Now I live chained to her wrist whether

she wants me or not/ more than science now he drips

eloquence

a voice/ sweet deep

voice soothing her she waits

for the moment she can hear it again and I

grow bigger until I have

jaws

Drowning in the smell of old spice and memories she

can’t wait for the moment when

she can touch his chest again and I

grow bigger until I have

claws

Soon my name will change into

love and she

miss the days of physics when

I could die without tears when I

hushed

slept

just

a

crush
