LIKE WE WERE MEANT TO BE
The other day as we watched the sun set…
I thought to myself…how beautiful is nature…and yet
at the same time I found myself hesitant…afraid
at the world around me we have made.
At the horrible things to each other we are doing
at al the bitterness and hatred brewing.
As the sun was setting a question entered into my mind.
I wondered if there is any way to make this world more kind.
And though I understand for some this is a bitter pill to swallow
I believe the future of the world…depends on who we follow.
What if at the next sunset…when the day is done…
We stopped following fools with power…
hateful fools with guns.
What if the next day…with the new sunrise…
we only follow leaders who are compassionate and wise.
So when it comes to future sunsets…we can all enjoy the view…
the way that our creators…
meant for us to do.
