The Big Fight

Martin put on his gloves and prepares himself for the fight. He didn’t want to fight his best friend Henry, but he knew that, if he wanted to succeed in the mixed martial arts he needed to win this fight. Henry does not want to fight him either. They were best friends since they were nine years old. Each one remembers where they met and how. They remember when a big, tall kid was bullying a younger kid and they both went right into action, defending the young little kid. After that they knew they were going to be friends. They also knew what they wanted to be when they grow up, a boxer. Back to the fight, both were heading into the ring as tension began to rise. They were best friends but the moment the bell ring, they will become strangers, even enemies. They both look at each other as a sign of respect. The bell rang. The fight began.
It was a very intense fight. It was so even; the judges would have a hard time deciding who won each round. But on the fifth round, Henry delivered a great punch on Martin’s face, leaving him on the floor. Martin recovered, not easily, but at his pace. He told the referee he was ok and continued to fight. The truth is that Martin was not OK. He was starting to have visions and hallucinations because that hit. He began seeing blurring and started to see up things that weren’t there. He thought, from what he is seeing, that Henry was mocking him. This makes Martin mad, making him throw a lot of punches at Henry; while Henry was actually worried his best friend was hurt. Martin began talk thrash Henry. Henry began to feel anger inside of him, but he really did not want to hurt Martin. Martin continues to throw punches at Henry and Henry continues to dodge them. End of the fifth round, Martin continue to be so mad at Henry for things he didn’t do, while Henry was trying to figure out what to do.
The bell rang, the sixth round has begun. Martin continues to be the way he was before the end of the fifth round. Henry knew what he has to do and that was knocking down Martin. At the right time and the right moment, Henry delivered a great uppercut against Martin leaving him in the floor once again. Henry felt terrible right after that. He won the fight and he became the champion, but he felt something wasn’t right. He didn’t see Martin get up from the floor right after the hit. He began to ask Martin’s staff what happen to him and he got terrible news. Martin was at a hospital because of a severe concussion.
At the hospital, Henry began saying to Martin that he was really sorry for what happen.  Martin told him he didn’t remember anything before or in the fight, which makes Henry a little relief because things could be like before, like friends. Although Martin was lying and have full conscience of what happen, he thought keeping a long lasting friendship is better than a stupid belt.
