The Old Bridge

One jump to end it all

One choice to keep it going.

The biggest decision she'd ever make

She Weighs her options

One so simple

The other so hard

But she just wasn't sure

she wanted to keep going.

The days that never end

The nights that come and go too quickly

From up here the water looks so scary

But so is what’d she would face

if she didn't jump.

Nothing ever seemed good enough

She didn't say much about it,

Afraid that people would say

she was making it up.

That she had no real problems.

She loved her friends

But yet she constantly had to compete with them

She hated her family

Plain and simple

To her parents

she was never good enough

her grades were too low

she swam too slow

Her weight was too much

She felt like she could never please them.

Her boyfriend tried all he could

To make her realize he loved her

But all she could say was don't lie to me.

The splash the water made

Broke the silence as she jumped

She spent the rest of her days

Haunting the old bridge.
