THE JACKET

Folder:
NINE POEMS

Not guided but enthralled

we habituate against a wall.

They think they fly

But only crawl

Deceived and now left grieving

Cleaving to somnambulant abodes

Made fresh and sharp by memories of waking worlds

The swift snapping snarl of calm animal ambition

Made solid like a sandcastle

With sandy towered walls

but you can't stop the waves from

crashing down the doors

BLINK BLINK BLINK

In the bright bright lights

Airport hospital walmart bright

Shining like an angels wings

Sanitized and lacking for the love of living things.

CLICK CLICK CLICK

Go the heels down the hall

How far removed from soft surusses

issuing from soles and toes

Slightly slipping on damp earth and dew wet grasses

Which should at the best of times

Smell a little like shit and a little like snow

Like fast sharp flying knives these vids erode the memories

Of lanterns light flashing through emulsions

And if they cant remember that

How can they remember

the fleshy heaven that is morning

Or how their own voice sounds without

All these echoes

Bouncing

off

the walls
