The World Corrupt

Have you ever wondered how this world is made?

I look all around me

Wishing it were trees and not buildings

Wishing I could feel the wind instead of sin

All around me

People chatterin and gossipin

Others drugging it up and laughin’ it up

Their lives so corrupt

They don’t even give a fuck

About the homeless around them

Can’t you see them?

They’re mostly harmless

Just lost in their own sins

Or misgivins'

Who knows, maybe someone done them in

And that’s why they living in sin

Their shitty living

I take a deep breath

This is about to get real in depth

I listen to the sounds all around me

Clanking of tools and the blaring of the people singing

Their voices off key

But low key, I find it intriguin'

I wander in this busy city

Seeing people taking selfies

But don’t even have time to help the homeless woman in need

She has children

You can see the struggle in her eyes

Her pride died

Why don’t they see?

The people too oblivious to see

Too self-absorbed

Always thinking of themselves

Why does this feel like hell?

We should all take the time to stop and be aware

Maybe there’s someone in the midst of terror

If we listen close enough

Look hard enough

You will see we just all in an illusion

Our world we make up

Doesn’t count half of what the world is really made of

Author's Notes/Comments:

Something I was thinking of while walking in LA

I love nature

Rather live in the forest than the city

something i am sure many of us think of when we walk through a big city. I wonder if i would be truly happy to live in the wilderness or if i would yearn for my iPhone after five minutes :P

My mother was a rainbow

My father turned her grey

they loved me like a sky lantern

they watched me fly away

It does beg the question, to what extent are they a tool to access and explore the cultural elements of life and to what extent are they a hindrance to us embracing culture. I suppose it is how we individuallhy use it. I personally spend far too much time polluting my brain on facebook than searching for the destination of my next adventure.
