Discomfort in a Dream

Folder:
Early 20s

Lead me down a dirt road I don’t want to be on
Car shaking and wobbling
Ready to fall apart at the joints
Seeing the ominous figure ahead
Ready to either chase after
Or lock me up
Being forced to keep going
Despite any pleading or begging

Find yourself in a dark parking garage
Talking business
The world spins around you
North becomes south
East becomes north
West becomes up
South becomes backwards
It doesn’t make any sense
Where am i?!?

You wait
You wait
You wait

Looking for your escape
For your exit to safety
And you finally see it!
Your sanctuary on wheels ready to spring you free
But not before you are choked
Tauntingly choked
By the ominous figure
Who is spouting off streams of data
You try to scream and fight your way free
They let you go and run to your savior
Laughing at your plight
As you sob in a puddle on the ground

Then you wake up
Still sobbing
Still gasping for air
Relief that it was all a dream
A nightmare
Never comes
You’re still uncomfortable
You still find it difficult to breath
You still have tears pouring down your face
Only now you can’t sleep either

Like the dreams I have...

This is a great piece of work! I write about dreams myself, reminds me of some of the dreams I have, then waking up and not remembering, until the next dream...love it!!
