From the Outside In

Folder:
Early 20s

old... worn

tired and slightly broken

screaming
I LOVE YOU
at the top of my lungs

but involuntarily confined

locked in from the outside

alone with myself
with endless amounts of time

to sit

to think

to dwell on that moment

still screaming "I LOVE YOU"

waiting for the reply

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written October 2011

As a part of the PostPoems Photo Poem Challenge. Took a picture at the Grist Mill in Marlborough/Sudbury MA. Going to try and find a way to attach it here, not sure if I will. It was a black and white photo with sharp contrast of an old boarded up shack that had a lot of writing carved in the side. The works "I love you" are the most visible words in the the photo.
