Inside

Look at me, please tell me,

What is it you see in me?

That, which you can see,

Is how you should treat me.

If what can you see is respect,

Then indeed you are correct.

Because that is what you’ve seen

You get respect from me, it’s routine.

Look again, can you see more?

If you can’t, a surprise is in store.

For that which you can see,

Is also what you receive from me.

If what can you see is empathy,

Then you will be treated sincerely.

The only thing that I ask of you,

Is that I get the same treatment too.

Don’t stop there, there is more to find.

Please, don’t pretend to be blind.

I ask you, in the most sincere way,

Look inside, this to you, I pray.

If what you can see is honesty,

Then know the truth will set you free.

All that I ask of you, is the truth,

To lie to me, it is uncouth.

Remember, I just want you to see,

All that is there, that makes me, me.

Show these same to me, and you will get,

The same in return, but don’t forget.

A nice little something written here, very simple rhyme scheme allows for the strong message to get accross. A good idea, based on the heavy emotion in this.
Well done,
