At The Season Of Dreary Weather

I like to watch spring's breezes break apart
the last of winter's dark and chilly clouds.
Likewise, the Gospel wind moved through my heart
to sweep away the storms, cobwebs, and shrouds
of sin that, thirty-six years, occupied
my life.  I thank God that I had not died
before His grace cleared up my spiritual skies.
Now I can look up Heavenward with eyes
that have been born again.  Each day and night,
I follow Christ in old paths and good ways.
Nor do I fear to cross through mists or haze,
because I walk by faith and not by sight.
I know Whom I believe, and fix my gaze
on Jesus:  He is all I need for light.

This poem is such a beautifully crafted testimony to Our Saviour. How true your words are when you say:

"...the Gospel wind moved through my heart
to sweep away the storms, cobwebs, and shrounds
of sin that, thirty-six years, occupied
my life."

Similarlly the gospel has cleared me of past transgressions. I am not sure where I would be if I had not been saved. I thank my friend Andy for reinstilling biblical teachings within me each day that I bow upon my knees in prayer.

My favourite line of this poem was:

"He is all I need for light."

So short and simplistic but yet so meaningful and inspiring. Thank you!

Continue to be a devoted and fruitful Christian and I will continue to enjoy your writing.

I enjoyed this piece. It wasn't what I expected when I read the title, but I'm not complaining. I try to keep faith myself and find it inspiring that you do, too.

How beautiful this is and how it makes the reader think that no matter how dreary the weather can be outside, in your heart if you have Christ you can have a beautiful day everyday... He can make all your gray skys blue...
Thank you for sharing a wonderful piece with me..
Peace and Love

You managed to turn even the bleakest of days into a clear one full of spirituality. It's a helpful reminder that no matter what things look like and how bad they seem if we keep our faith there is no such thing as a bad or ugly day. Thank you for the inspiring read.
