A Dreamer's Reality

The pressure’s on

To do well

I’ve started it all

I said I wouldn’t fail

This is where I wished to be.

Now that I’ve got here,

Can I continue with very little fear?

The first goal has been reached

Now I linger with thousands of questions.

And, there are millions steps to complete.

What’s left?

What next do I do?

Where do I go from here?

The pressure’s on

To do well

Only for myself to please

My expectations are great.

I’d made it this far,

But there’s much to prove.

It’ll be a long way to fall, if I look back too soon.

I’ve set plans in motion

But, life makes comments

“Be patient and simply wait.”

So when that time comes,

Will I be strong enough to say,

“Move and get out of my way.”

The pressure’s on

To do well

To get it right

The world will continue on

As if I never belonged

But I have to etch a place

To make it known

That I was actually born

The pressure’s on

And the competition’s fierce

Constantly present

Pining and struggling to be the best
