Winter

Winter is so cold without you.

The sun barely bothers to show us her face.

Snow falls from above like forsaken love

And longingly swirls and eddies in place.

Winter is so lonely without you.

the air still and cold like an unmarked grave.

Thoughts of you and me pass like snowprints and last

To remind me that I am love's slave.

Winter is so lonely without you.

The trees have surrendered their beauty of fall.

All that's left of my soul is the big empty hole

In my heart when it's you I recall.

Love is unlovely without you

In wintertime's cold and desolate plain.

The thoughts that we shared, the plans that we dared

Wash away in its cold, icy rain.

Winter nights are so cold without you

As I pull to my chin the warm blankets of hope

While in fantasy dream of a warm, balmy spring

Where our love like sweet butterflies float.

Love is so cold without you.

The sun barely bothers to show us her face.
