To Lady Certainly; On My Presumed Congesitve Heart Failure

How can my heart be said to fail

when it is safe in your faithful keeping?

There, no threat can intrude, or prevail

whether I am waking or sleeping.

With you beside me, I can face fear,

nor need to panic nor shed a tear.

Rather, in the faith of early Christianity---

and our mutual Bible-believing spirituality---

I trust my Savior to Eternity:

in times of fair, or times of stormy, weather,

He keeps us in the Heavenlies together.

Starward
