Fragility

Touched by you,

I am drawn closer,

Saddened at times,

I run away,

With surprises in the horizon,

I await more with my breath held

Tears of crystal,

The flame of a candle.

Sometimes defeated,

I embrace truth and fate,

Forsaking everything in love's wake.

I find the pieces that make me whole

I can finally rest this tired soul

As I hide, you still uncover me

With your sweet touch

Creating waves of happiness

As quiet as the morning sun.

How long must the sky wait

To witness the budding of a rose?

How soft must a whisper be

For it to be heard?

If all rests on the strength

Of a silken thread,

I'll keep it safe in my heart

Till all time ends.

Hi! I love this poem. Your words bring to mind the man that I love. We have that silken thread of which you speak. There is a feeling of warmth and electricity in my body when he is near me. I know when he is standing behind me or in a room by the feeling, even before seeing him. When our eyes meet the feeling is intensified further rendering us speechless. We smile and feel our endless love. Take care.
