A Friend Named Addiction

Day, night

Consuming my mind

Paralyzing the insides

Yet freeing from strife

Needing, wanting

To feel you once more

Giving me nourishment

I embrace entrapment

My aim, my regret

My reason, my secret

You are my insanity

My constant attempt

My nothing, my everything

My world in a dream

My escape, my salvation

My beautiful sin

My death, my life

A friend by my side

You're all that's insane

My passion, my pain.

That remind me of someone I was in love with but I still like the poem

Candice Smith's picture

Your style (at least for this poem) is unlike any that I have ever seen. I love it; it's truly an amazing piece of work.

This poem is right on the dot. It is, to me, the true feeling of addiction. Thank you for commenting my poems, i look forward to reading yours.
