Anticipation
as we face each other
in the stillness of the night
i felt the weakening in my body
that i cannot deny
never would i dare to look away
from the intensity in your eyes
with every breath i took
it felt as though
i have already tasted you
so spellbound was i.
there is silence
that envelops me in warmth
and in the subtle change in you
i read your heart's intention.
not a single touch has been spared
not a word was spoken
but you were calling out my soul
urging us to be lost
in this infinite moment.
i felt the thundering in my heart
i felt my racing pulse
and finally,
our lips touched.
and into the sweet nothingness
of this kiss
we both succumb.
Hi, I love this poem alot, I think that you use and chain words together really well, my fav line "and into the sweet nothingness." Also thanks for posting to my new poem I just put up last night.
