I looked upon the sky one night,

And saw a lonely star,

So I made a wish with all my heart,

And sent it very far.

I'm at the end...I cannot go on,

And the pain I can bear no more.

Some will say...it is extreme, a sin...to end ones life,

Yet to go on...I've not the strength,

Less my lover...my best friend...my wife.

There is another I have lost,

The pain, the guilt so bad,

My sweet son, how I've let you down,

As an example, a friend...your Dad.

I say how sorry that I am,

But I deserve no amnesty,

So, you see the wish...that I made,

Is for you both to just forget me.
