Life Goes On

Black clouds hover,

Proclaiming rain.

I have no shelter

To shield the pain.

Lightening strikes,

Piercing my heart.

The luxury of friendship

Too soon did part.

Rain now pours

Heavily on me.

I look around.

There is nothing to see.

Blackness surrounds

My whole being.

Tainted are

My hopes and dreams.

Broken heart,

Completely gone.

Reality sets in.

Life goes on.

the idea of a storm is really over done...i have read tons of poems that talk about storms and rain and thunder... if you want to use a cliche idea, you need to give it something more, something none of us have read before... "Life goes on"...that is another phrase that is used way too much... poetry should come from the heart, not another poet's journal...put some imagery in this, use some metaphors and spice it up with similies...then send it to me and i'll go over it with you.
