this all happened quickly
and I'm left here in shame
but don't think the feelings disappear
I feel them with your name
I'm sorry I made you upset
I never wanted you to cry
but it wasn't only you I hurt
with every spoken lie
torn between two ideas
lost between the lines
all the right feelings
all the wrong times
so tonight before you're dreaming
let reality sink in
forget the bad and remember the good
of how I'm holding you within
so tonight before you're slipping
tonight before you tear
remember you made an impact
a highlight of my year
so tonight before you sleep
and realize this pain is true
in case the future doesn't work
happy am I to have experienced
a great person like you
