And I'll Be Smiling

Quiver, quiver

I feel a tremble shake me to the core

Remember there was a time

these eyes once fervently adored

Fearless wanting, just as cunning

As the day this lust was born

If I were a little bit more lovely

Could I have had you to myself?

Until I catch your heart again

I'll be sitting on the shelf

Lackluster, a little dusty

Years of wear and tear

Stains where tears have run and dried

With a hopeless empty stare

I love the honesty, it is sad and funny in equal measure when we have to ask ourseleves this. I say ask ourseleves, because I have never had to nerve to say it to HIM.... :) x

please read my poems, and enjoy the real-life drama that is my life!
