give me the insight to do whats right
hold me through my travels from darkness into the light
put your hand on my shoulders as i grow older
show and teach me that with you i remain bolder
bolder enough to make it through my misery
reveal my scars that prove the past is history
chant in my ear that theres nothing to fear
guide me thru my trials and tribulation
make it known that youre always here
preach to me in my moments of need
make me realize in time youll dry these tears
follow me as i make my mistakes
show me its ok when i bleed
wrap your will around mine
show me that mistakes are human
lead the light to the blind
help my son also as he needs assurance
grip onto his life tightly
give him the gift of keeping him from torment
speak to him as he grows
try to elaborate on the greatness of life
not the agony of its bite
lead his hand to yours as he slips
be the extra strength in his grips
