The Day Time Stood Still

Moral Rectitude & A Lack Thereof I wish afflictions were never lifelong
And tears only the length of a song.
I wish time could answer to my beck and call,
Fastforward, rewind, and never have existed at all.
I wish apologies were not so hard to say,
And everyone could forgive without parting ways.
Abandonment is only half the pain,
Regret and guilt are what drive me insane.
I wish a night could pass
Without torment from the past.
Because on that day, time was confused as I stood in horror
Wanting to react to the screams I heard behind that door.
Shock quickly turned into disbelief and then fear to tumult,
Because I already knew the end result.
And, that frightened me more than cowardice that day.
So, I sojourned to the party completely undismayed,
Secretly torturing my soul and destroying my will,
That was the day time stood still.
I predict that some
I predict that some enterprising composer will, some future day, set this beautiful poem to music; like the art songs of Francois Poulenc.

This actual brought tears in my eyes, I felt like this when a close friend passed away, I felt like I been holding in my tears and letting my pain build. With the courage to not only face your pain that ability to write takes a lot of heart, good job stay positive and don't stop writing.

Thank you so much, I've been writing my entire life. I try to write about things you normally don't read. For example give me a topic to write about I'll make it into a poem. And have it done by tonight...
