A Black woman like me has to be tough,

even when my black ain't dark enough,

when I have to deal with unneccessary stuff.

A Black woman like me has to be tough.

A Black woman like me has to be hard.

Especially, when you got a man without a job,

and bills and shit coming to me in mobs.

A Black woman like me has to be hard.

A Black woman like me can't be scared.

When babies and life has to be bared.

Even when it seems that the nigga never cared.

A Black woman like me can't be scared.

A Black woman like me has to teach.

Sometimes it seems like I'm trying to preach,

but if it will help I'll be glad to reach.

A Black woman like me has to teach.

A Black woman like me has to pray.

it's the only way I'll get through the day,

though it's hard now in the long run it will pay.

A Black woman like me has to pray.

A Black woman like me has to smile.

Sometimes when stress piles, it's rough.

But it's enough to know that there's an end to troublesome miles.

A Black woman like me has to smile.

A black woman like me can't quit.

Always with the quick wit.

Even when you know that man ain't shit, and try anyway.

Hey, A Black woman like me can't quit.

The black woman in me and you are sometimes one in the same.

All have shed hopeless tears for the game.

Even though it might be easier and makes me perfectly sane,

I'd never reframe from being A Black Woman.

Gorgeous Poem. Perfectly written. Tough, perseverant, standing tall.

"I'd never reframe from being A Black Woman."

Though I felt your poem talked from within.. This line gave me a glimpse of your heart. Super Job! Very few woman like you out there. You deserve a rich man (inside) who will give you diamonds (love)..real ones too!

Ciao

Hey Hon, I remember this from the page a while back, I dig it, no doubt- you stay strong girl, as you seem to always have, thing'll work out... Oh, also, I like how you titled it with the acronym for your flow line- glad to revisit the read on this one :-)
