IRAQ War II

Free at last

Free at last

Thank God we are Free at last.

Joyous people in the street

Experiencing what it is to be free.

Celebrating with dance and song,

That they have waited for so long.

It is hard to imagine until you see

Their joyous faces there on TV.

Waving, dancing, and thowing flowers too,

Showing it wasn't the people, just a few.

The thugs are on the run,

Their reign of terror is done.

The people are taking back their lives,

For themselves, their children, and their wives.

There are those opposed to this war,

the look on the peoples faces tells us what for.

It is everyone's right to be free to laugh and sing,

If WMD is not found, who cares? Freedom is the thing.

Some say we have a blood lust,

No, our eyes are open and our cause just.

We will not tolerate a tyrant's heel,

Just over two-hundread years ago, we know how they feel.

It was the Great Satan that set them free,

Lifted from their necks the yoke of tyranny.

It wasn't their Arab brothers that came to aid her,

They did everything to make it look like we were invaders.

The people knew we were there to save

And recognized the care we gave.

With tears in our eyes we stand and cheer,

That they will now be able to live without fear.

No more secret police to terrorize,

No more removing loved ones in the night.

No more torture for speaking your mind

No more a threat to mankind.

And so it comes to past

For the Iraqi people, to paraphrase Dr. King,

"Free at last

Free at last

Thank God we are free at last.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Dedicated to the Iraqi people with apologies for the world not acting sooner to relieve their oppression.

Don't believe the hype. The only thing we liberated these people from is their oil.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts. May you be blessed for thinking about the not so fortunate people out there. Here in South Africa, you are in my prayers also.

Warm wishes
