Prayer for Peace

Folder:
IRAQ War II

May peace and love reign the heavens

and descend on us below

As yeast  will bread leaven,

Let peace and love grow.

Let us all reach out to each other,

realizing we are sisters and brothers.

Here on earth a very special place,

All members of the human race.

Let no child go to sleep with hunger pains

Or live in a hut that doesn't keep out the rain.

Let them learn to love and not hate,

and through the peace of our God's Love, life is great.

Jayati and I make this request

Let it be carried on the winds to the east and west.

Let countries erase their borders

That we might be of one heart in peace, brothers.

It is our diversity and faith, almighty God that makes us strong,

Let the world know peace and love is never wrong.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written on the spur of the moment by Jayati's request as a balance to my Anti Anti-War Activist poem.

It is a nice thought to carry with you, although very hypocritcal.

Must everyone use God's love?

For everyone does not believe in God/gods.

The last thought has the power to ring true universally.

"Let the world know peace and love is never wrong."

A very nice and well thought out poem.

nice, if we would all just learn to live together the world would be a better place. But, we have greed, envy, and a host of other "sins" that we can't seem to get over.
