BK Thank You

I went to the King

For burgers and fries

When I got those things

I got a surprise.

I was walking to my table

And all went black

See, I was not able

A customer caught me

But not my sack.

When I awoke

I asked to go home

The manager said “No joke?”

Of it he would have none.

He called the paramedics

Who were just next door,

They came quick as a lick

And began their chore.

“I only want to go home”

I told them so.

“Let us check you out some

Before we let you go.”

They were all so nice

Treating me with care.

I wouldn’t think twice

About going back there.

“Ma’am, we are taking you to the hospital

To have the doctor check you out,

We know it is not your will,

But by this decision we are devout.”

They rolled me to the ambulance

When the manager came to say goodbye,

I was hungry and almost in a trance

As he handed me bag of burger and fries.

This poem is a thank you

Oh so large,

I should mention too,

For the burger and fries

There was no charge.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Thank you to the staff at our Sanford, Florida Burger King and the Paramedics who treated my mother Anna M. “Mickey” Hickson like a queen.  We will be forever grateful.

There could be no other way to express your "Thanks" for the caring people. I can understand your sincere acknowledgement. Mother is the only treasure for any loving child.

I'm glad to be the first to critique on this masterpeace. This has a good flow to it, it's amazing how you can take this situation and create such a wonderful poem, I'm sure the BK you wrote it for has framed the poem and hung it for everyone to see. Bravo! A++++
