Journey

I was wondering in the desert of my pride
No water, no food, no shade to hide
I was lost, but I didn't know it
I saw the crippled cadavers of the damned
But I didn't care! I was thirsty!
I was in need of nourishment

There were mirages of lakes all around
The mouths of the fallen were
Screaming to be quenched
But out came no sound
There was NO relief! NO signs of rescue!
They cursed the air, they cursed the sky!

I was lost, but I didn't know it

I slept on the ground
hard and rough ground
It mocked the level of indignity I had!
But as I slept I was awaken by that noise
No...! I knew it to be a voice! It called out to me!
By name! The voice knew my name!

It was faint, but my name was clear
It was without fear but still had no direction
The voice beckoned, it kept calling me
I had to find it!

I was lost, but I didn't know it

I began my search, I began to seek
This voice that was faint
It knew me
But I didn't have a guide, no map,
No compass, no stars, familiar landmarks
Or direction, I was stranded

I was lost, and I knew it

The voice became louder, I was getting closer!
I became frantic for the voice
I sprinted! I ran faster then I ever have
It was like I was floating, so fast!
My name was bring called, it was loud and it was clear!

I pushed through the door, the voice was now leading me!
I didn't know where I was by my own will
But I was determined!
I kept running toward the sound! The doors started opening ahead of me!

The light...why? I'm left in darkness!
No respite, no sight, no lucent light to be seen
But there was a faint brightness, it was in the distance
But I needed it!
So I ran! I ran towards the light with everything I had!
...The voice was personified
I was lost within anticipation and fear

The light was still faint but I saw a robe
It had the appearance of floating
The voice came from within it
I didn't know the voice, but it knew me!
But I still didn't understand why I was called!
