head lines or front lines

time for us to pick

there is something we can do

but we must be quick



I read the news and want to cry

there seems to be no one who cares

what to do and how to start

should I even dare



I have no children

but it seems to me

that is where we should start

at least it makes sense you see



so why not start as soon as we can

like maybe when we say good night

share with them if you can

some of your loving insight



let them know that they are loved

and have your support even when

they seem to go a different path

writing with a different type of pen
