A CROSS TO BARE

THE SON OF GOD

A CROWN OF THORNS

CARRING A HUGE CROSS

TO BE NAILED UP UNTIL

DEATH CAME SLOW

I THINK OF THIS

SO MUCH THESE DAYS

RIDING THRU THE FARM LANDS

THEY MADE JESUS

LOOK LIKE A SCARECROW WE CAME FROM

SO MUCH VIOLENCE

THE DEATH OF JESUS

OR DEATH OF MORTAL MAN?

NOT SOMETHING,

WE ARE NOT USE TO.

JUST SPEND ONE MOMENT,

THINK BACK, REMEMBER,

IF YOU CAN,

ALL THE ATROCITIES,

SPAWN FROM JUST THE DEVIL'S PLAN.

CAVE MAN TRIBES

KILLING WITH CLUBS AND STONES

THE ROMANS

AND THE INDIANS

HITLER ON CRACK

NOW BUSH OR GORE

WE'RE DOOMED TO FAIL

MORE MONEY

MORE JAILS, ITS SO BAD JESUS

I CAN IMAGINE THE SPIKE NAILS??????

Oh let me see. I AM christian. But I happen to be German, and Native American, and I'm a republican too! so thanX but this was a most offencive poem. Not to mention I hope you know how much Mockery you've putten into this poem when it comes to comparing You having to have a president you dont like to being slaughtered, beaten naked in front of a croud, and crucified. And do you know what Crucifiction is like? I read a book on it. You have to actualy push your body up with the nails in your feet for every breath of air, and you eventualy suffocate on the blood filling your lungs. ahuh, that sounds just as wonderful as having Bush for a president.

Very special and unique! I guess instead of "Hitler on crack," I would have found something that rhymes with "clubs and stones;" But, it's not bad. God bless you!

Fantastic Renee!! And you to Tim. Now I will have different thoughs everytime I see a scarecrow. Never thought of it that way. I hear Bush is reading his Bible more since September 11. I see a lot of patriotism today which we sorely needed in this country but not a lot of repentance. We need that even more. At least I do. Thanks for a thought provoking poem.

I just read this magnificent piece again. It makes me think of His words in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever shall believe in Him shall have everlasting life" What a gift! And to think that He came to earth as a helpless infant totally dependent on Mankind to teach Him love and nurturing for one another. I sit here wondering what He must think of my behaior of late. I am glad that He has paid for my ransom with his blood. I can't even begin to approach that kind of love for my fellow man. I'm glad that His wish for me is to simply 'try' to love my fellow man as best as I can on a daily basis. I love the passion of the Spirit within you and pray that I will always be able to be part of your life. I have so much to learn from the Spirit within you.

Renee' You just amaze me. I love the spirit that lives within you. That is one of the many and great qualities that I love so much about you. I never ceased to be amazed at the love and compassion you have within you for your fellow man. Keep up the great work and don't ever let anyone drive you from this site. It seems to me that we really don't deserve the gift that Jesus gave to us, I often ask myself if he knew how badly we would treat his gift of life, would he have been so quick to have died for our sins. Thank you! thank you again for giving me something to think about.

Intresting piece. Two points catch my attention right off. 1. The title. I like the choice of the word "Bare" vs "Bear". I don't know if it was intentional or not, but when I was finished reading the piece, the title takes on another perspective. 2. The way you finish. Strong."I CAN IMAGINE THE SPIKE NAILS??????" I visualize the nails being driven into myself, and the rest of the nation. Good visualization.

Hmmm. Wonder what happened with my other critique??? Anyway.... This is a great piece! In regards to today, Gore and Bush seem to think they are only hammering on each other. Little do they know, it is The People who are getting nailed! Or, do they know?....
