sunday death news

Sunday I heard the tragic news

John Kennedy and Co. plane missing.

Lord you know it surely gave me the blues,

To find them alive I was praying and wishing.

Then came the news that we all dread.

Their bodies along with the plane found.

But unfortunetly all aboard were dead.

When I heard this from me can not a sound.

Taken in the prime of his fun filled life,

From him no more words, smiles or even a laugh.

Lost for days at sea with sister-in-law and his wife.

A nation morns while flags sly at half staff.

Their ashes were spread out at sea.

From the Navy ship USS Brisco.

Now their spirits are surely free.

Things like this you feel deep inside and just know.

They held a very simple and private mass.

Outside tons of flowers were given by the crowd.

This we heard from a short but sweet news flash.

The way his sister planned it he would have been proud.

Definately tragic! This poem makes a nice farewell. We have lost so many famous people in plane accidents over the years, it's a shame.

Deaths are always makes people cry and stuff and I do realise that the news the Kennedy's got was bad as well. I'm inspired at you as you always know how to make a good start and good ending in all your poems. Nice poem and it was also nice of you to share your feelings on the death of JFK Jnr

I love your poetry. There is always a story & even though I wasn't involved in the event, I always feel that I am truly a part of it. This poem gave me much more insight & sympathy in to the death of this famous young man. As we know, all deaths are tragic. The Kennedy's seem to suffer so much, don't they? Please keep writing & I will keep reading. Amy
