poem_194_2_Months

It all started when

The high schools began.

He was in my 7th period,

I knew, he was the man.

Two months I was meddling

Over exactly what to do.

Do I approach him directly,

Or devise something to construe?

Well, I fiddled about

Not devising the way,

Then Homecoming came up

And I aimed for that day.

Two weeks before Homecoming,

The plan was still a draft,

But slowly initiating phase one,

Careful in my craft.

Alas, it wasn’t time.

So I waited slightly longer,

For my plan to formulate

And finalize stronger.

Then it happened.

The perfect chance.

Though not as planned,

I started the advance.

Now totally impromptu,

My actions became.

Quickly forming,

How to win the game.

And as sure as I worked it,

The desired result came through.

As I revealed to him this,

He was as just happy too.

A spuratic choice,

On his part it was,

To accept my invitation,

Simply just because.

The opportunity was there.

All he had to do was accept.

So he asked me to walk,

And into he night we crept.

The conversation was sweet,

And innately deep,

As he revealed to me,

The worry in this reap.

Having not a relationship,

Now six years long,

He didn’t want to chance,

Something going terribly wrong.

But, I was persistent.

Not wanting to let this slip.

And so I reassured him,

While we continued our trip.

Further into the night,

It had seemed,

The possibility of us,

No longer just dreamed.

Now lying beside him,

Just simply lying,

I listen to his breath.

Then he started sighing.

“Darling, what’s wrong?

Are you alright?”

He simply replied

“This has been the best night.

“You really have no idea

How happy I am right now.

Lying here with you

Thinking about how.”

As he said this,

It made me think.

It was rather queer,

How we began to sync.

The working of life.

The constellation at best.

The Cosmos allowing,

For us to take that test.

Today my work is reaped.

Through two months of prep,

I finally bask in his arms,

Now to plan the next step.
