poem_147_Apparitions

When I am scared

My fears become real

Until I am calm

These apparitions I feel

To most it's just nothing

A mind game of the night

But what I see that people don't

Is what puts me in such fright

Take a moment

Think of this

You're laying

In your room one night

Staring in the abyss

Everything is silent

When out of the blue

Something strange happens

That you just can't construe

A Shadow is moving

Swaying to and fro

All you can do is sit there

Watch where it'll go

At first it just sways

A stare down begins

But as the time goes on

The apparition moves in

The closer and closer it gets

My heart beats more and faster

Moving so eerily and careless

I feel a possible disaster

I can't stare directly at it

Like most things in the dark

But off to the side I see it best

As it continues the embark

It sometimes seems harmful

But there are times that it's calm

But every time I see this shape

I am put in an alarm

Right before, although

The apparition is in touching distance

I hide under my blanket

To hide in mental existence

What happened this time

After I waited for a while

I looked back in space

And to my astonishment

There was a glimpse

Of a ceased loved ones face
