poem_186_Biggest_Mistake

He’s always telling me

About his biggest mistake

Despite my claims of it not

We debate our break

He’ll tell me repeatedly

How his ending with me

Was his biggest mistake

And now he does see

How great I was

How great we were

Together so happy

Until there was her

Where he screwed up

And ruined his life

Began the decline

Of his endless strife

But little does he know

In the impact he’s had

Of my conscious thoughts

And our relationship gone bad

Since we’ve been apart

Not a beat in my chest

Has sustained such passion

Like the one we possessed

Though I’ve tried to forget

Our long shared love

It’s something I can’t find

Within me to shove

When we talk

He may hear me cry

As I make a fake reason

I’ll never tell him why

Because I wasn’t always faithful

Those three years ago

When I was so wanting him

But barely let it show

Our love was great

And I was naively young

Now because of my infidelity

We both are sorely stung

So it wasn’t just he

Who caused the break

For I played a role

In our biggest mistake
