Golden Pond

Come with me my love

To the garden of our dreams.

Let's spend some time together;

This may be our last

To watch that purple sunset

Just like we bask the dawn

And marvel at the glowing sunrise.

Let me hold you my dear

To ease those shaky hands

Wrinkled in years pass by;

Serving the Lord our Master

For the love of me, they're grand;

As you nourish our family,

My only legacy for you and me.

Sit down my darling

To our bench we shared

In our lifetime of joys

And some tears of sorrow

When times get rough

We both were tough

Laughing and smiling them through.

Let us renew our vows

Made before the Lord

This golden pond to witness

The memories we made.

Life has been great

Love is strengthened

In this golden pond we created.

Our oath to love and to cherish

In sickness and in health

For poorer or richer

Till death do us part

Is a seal of our undying love;

Hurdled amidst all pains.

Let us kiss till we perish.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Note from the author: This is my childhood wish of how my marriage would be. Alas, it did not materialize in reality but I made it through this poem. I'll keep dreaming and dream on till I will perish. ~TV~
