A Sneaker Unwashed
What happens to a sneaker unwashed?
Does it grow mold
Like a piece of rotting bread?
Or melt as if dipped in acid---
And then smell hideously foul?
Does it slowly deteriorate?
Or grow its own new shoe laces from its sides---
Like a mutant growing an arm-bizarre
Maybe it walks lost
Like a zombie from its grave.
Or does it burst into flames from its own toxic waste?
