Broken Rainbow

Folder:
Simple Rhymes

In the depths of my cold and dying soul,

there's a shattered, broken rainbow,

with shades of gray that lead to black,

and no full colour still intact,

it lays there with solemn pride,

from when my happiness died,

and sings a sad requiem of death,

growing stronger with each breath,

this shaded shell of what once was,

whispers to me just because,

a story that goes without pause,

and ends always with grand applause,

my death in writing, quietly sung,

each syllabel glides off it's tongue,

telling stories of my greatest fall,

my last defeat that ended all,

but the colours in my heart survived,

cold and dark and light deprived,

One day i really hope to find,

A sight to ease my troubled mind,

and take me back to coloured days,

where once i laughed, for hours played,

among the blue, the green, the white,

a contrast to my constant night,

the days lead on and still i search,

walking alone on this cold dirt,

for something to restart my mind,

like back before i fell behind,

and i think i've found it in your eyes,

colours that make me realize,

life isnt all in black and gray,

and night cannot compare to day,

i'll let the sunlight heal my soul,

slowly recover til i'm whole.
