No Perfect People Allowed

Why do we act

like Christianity

is an exclusive club?

We charge tithes

like membership fees,

but don’t we realize

the price was already paid?

His blood was what it cost

for the most imperfect of us

to find forgiveness.

He didn’t call us

to be selective with

who we accept in.

After all, He received

all kinds

from prostitutes

to lepers

to the worst kind~

hypocrites.

Shouldn’t we

follow His example?

Isn’t that the purpose

of being a Christian?

We’re not meant to

show how worthy we are

that we got in,

but to show that

despite how flawed we are,

He accepted us

and He would accept

anyone who believes.

Response to above comment:

I agree that tithing is important. I just don't agree with "passing the plate" which just makes people feel guilty into giving. As the Bible says, "God loves a cheerful giver." :)

Although I agree with what you say here, my understanding is tithing's purpose is to support the church and also help those in need though don't quote me on that it's only heresay I heard..
