Regression Analysis

Folder:
Extended Metaphors

I was just one in a population of outcasts

with a predefined placement in society-

at the tail end, not part of normalcy.

My parameters had been carefully set;

I was not allowed outside of these bounds

that is, until I was extracted “randomly”.

Paranoia ensued as confidence intervals shrank

and bad decisions ruled over me ranging

from past mistakes and future failures.

I was expected to progress towards the mean,

but instead I regressed back into exile knowing

there was no correlation between them and I.
